Practice Merge - Ariel Healthcare is born.

The partners are very pleased to announce that the merger of Essex House Medical Centre and Tawstock Medical Centre has been formally approved by the Primary Care Commissioning Committee and from Saturday 1 October 2022 we will formally become Ariel Healthcare.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to the engagement that was sent to all registered patients in May; your input has been invaluable and has helped us to understand your concerns and address your questions.

The new partnership will continue to follow the same principles of high quality and personal care, but it is also our ambition to enhance the services we provide and provide flexibility. We want provide stability for patients and an enlarged organisation will allow us to do this as well as improving access to services.

The practices are very enthusiastic about the new partnership, and we will be working closely together over the coming months to integrate systems and combine processes. Our main priority will be to ensure a seamless transition for our patients and to minimise any potential disruption.

We see this as a great opportunity for us to build a secure future for our two practices. For you, it will mean a proactive practice able to manage and navigate both current and future challenges as well as opportunities and offer the best for our patients with excellent resources.

What’s next?

In essence, nothing will change for patients. You will continue to ring the same telephone numbers, see, and speak to the same receptionists, GPs, and nursing staff, and attend the same practice.

Longer-term we are looking at being able to offer patients the choice of which site they are seen at. Either our Fore Street site or our St. Mary’s site. This will make it easier for you to select an appointment time and location which best suits you.

Over the coming months we will be identifying areas across both practices that could be improved to benefit our patients. As and when decisions are made, we will ensure you are kept informed. We will be actively working with our practice patient groups (PPG) to help support the next steps and to ensure they meet the needs of all our patients.
